Fan : what do you think is the reason for that phenomenon called "football hooliganism" ? there are so many exciting games but they do not attract
such multitudes of fans and are not accompanied with acts of violence, vandalism and riot. It so happen that as soon as the game is over, hooligans start these brutal act. It seems that they cannot put up with any kind of loss. Could you account for this phenomenon which is associated with shouting, smashing, fighting and committing acts of terror


المشجع : ما هو برأيك السبب لتلك الظاهرة التي تسمى " شغب كرة القدم"؟ فهناك كثير من الألعاب المثيرة لكنها لا تجتذب حشودا كبيرة من المشجعين وليست مصحوبة بأعمال العنف والشغب والعبث بالجمال. فغالبا ما يحدث أن المباراة ما إن تنتهي حتى يشرع المشاغبون بهذه الأعمال الوحشية. يبدو أنهم لا يستطيعون تحمل أي نوع من الخسارة. هلا سمحت بأن تفسر هذه الظاهرة المرتبطة بالصراخ والتهشيم والشجار وارتكاب أعمال العنف؟




Psychologist : in point of fact, there are certain reasons for this uncivilized behavior. One of the main reasons is that some people, the so-called hooligans, cannot even imagine their team has lost the game. For them it's a matter of honor. Loss for them is a sort of blemish, humility , disgrace or degradation. Not only this, but belong to a certain team or a particular club is for them exactly like being a citizen of a certain country. No one, I presume, would put up with the idea of one's country being overcome by another country




عالم النفس: الحق أن هناك أسباب معينه لهذا السلوك غير الحضاري وأحد الأسباب الرئيسية أن بعض الناس الذين يطلق عليهم المشاغبون لا يستطيعون أن يتصورا أن فريقهم قد خسر المباراة, فبالنسبة إليهم المسألة مسألة شرف, والخسارة بالنسبة إليهم نوع من الوصمة والعار أو المذلة والحط من القدر. ليس هذا فحسب بل إن الانتماء إلى فريق معين أو ناد خاص هو بالنسبة إليهم يشبه كون الإنسان مواطنا لبلد آخر, فلا أحد, فيما أفترض , يتحمل فكرة أن يغلب بلده من قبل بلد آخر.



Fan: don't you think it's really exaggerating to compare a team to a homeland or a country? I tend to think that a football match is a fierce battle between two teams. As a matter of fact, it gladden my heart to see my team has won the match, but would never degrade the losing team




المشجع: ألا تعتقد أن من المغالاة –فعلا- مقارنة فريق بوطن أو بلد؟ فأنا أميل إلى الظن أن مباراة كرة القدم معركة حامية بين فريقين. والحق أن مما يثلج قلبي أن أرى فريقي قد فاز بالمباراة لكنني لا يمكن أن أنتقص أبدا من قدر الفريق الخاسر.

Psychologist: unfortunately, there are people who think championship is gold mine which they must seize, whatever the consequences. I admit it's a narrow vision, selfishness an superficial thinking




عالم النفس: لسوء الحظ هناك من يعتقد أن البطولة منجم من ذهب يجب الاستيلاء عليه أيا كانت النتائج, وأنا أعترف بأم هذه نظرة ضيقة كما أنها تمثل الأنانية والتفكير السطحي.




Fan: I would never think my team is the only champion in the world. One should admit there are other champions, too . such thinking is only a reflection of narrow- mindedness




المشجع: لا يمكن أن أفكر أن فريقي هو البطل الوحيد في العالم , فعلى المرء أن يقر بأن هناك أبطالا آخرين أيضا , ومثل هذا التفكير ليس سو انعكاس لضيق الفكر.



Psychologist : it would be only reasonable to deal with people from a moral perspective. In actuality, one should look upon life as being a chain of ups and downs. It should be admitted everybody is open to failure. In other words, you may win now and lose later.
Psychologically, we should not look at what's happening but we should be mainly concern about the consequences



عالم النفس: إن من المنطقي أن نتعامل مع الناس من منظور أخلاقي , فالحق أن على المرء أن ينظر إلى الحياة أنها سلسلة من الصعود والهبوط, ويجب الإقرار بأن كل إنسان عرضة للفشل, وبتعبير آخر فقد يربح الآن ويخسر لاحقا . ومن الناحية النفسية يجب ألا ننظر إلى ما يحدث , بل يجب أن نكون مهتمين بصورة رئيسية بالنتيجة .



Fan: do you think, sir, that hooliganism can be interpreted as over-liveliness



المشجع: هل تحسب يا سيدي أن الشغب يمكن أن يفسر على أنه إفراط بالحيوية ؟



Psychologist: to give it such an interpretation is a sort of oversimplification. I would tend to think it can be attributed to uncivilized behavior, brutal nature, foolish impulsiveness and even stupidity. I shouldn't think civilized people would resort to acts of terror, riot and vandalism for expressing their feeling of victory



عالم النفس: إن تقديم مثل هذا التفسير نوع من الإفراط في التبسيط, فأنا أميل إلى الاعتقاد بأنه يمكن أن ينسب إلى سلوك غير حضاري وإلى طبيعة وحشية واندفاع أحمق وكذلك إلى الغباء . فلا أحسب أن أناسا متحضرين يلجؤون إلى أعمال إرهابية أو إلى شغب وإلى العبث بالجمال تعبيرا عن شعورهم بالنصر.

هل كرة القدم قناة دبلوماسية؟
الصحفي: ما السبب في أنه عندما يود بلدان استعادة العلاقات الدبلوماسية أو تطبيعها فإنهما يلجأن إلى كرة القدم ؟ فالفريقان الوطنيان للبلدين يلعبان مباراة كرة قدم ودية وبعد ذلك تبدأ محادثات التطبيع وراء الكواليس.
السياسي: السبب هو أ ن الرياضة نشاط عام. وكرة القدم لعبة محبوبة فعلا يمكن استعمالها قناة دبلوماسية.
